The latest update to Cubit Estimating brings a range of improvements designed to reduce the manual work that slows estimators down; and if you’re using the powerful AI Estimating add-on, there’s even more to check out.

Here’s a look at what’s new.

What’s new in Cubit Estimating

Edit shapes faster with multi-point shape editing

When editing shapes in your takeoff, you can now select multiple points at oncethen move or remove them in a single action. No more clicking each point individually when multiple adjustments are needed. It may sound like a simple improvement, but if you regularly refine shapes after your initial takeoff, this will save you a noticeable amount of time.

What’s new in the AI Estimating module

We’re also delivering some significant updates to our AI Estimating add-on for Cubit Estimating, adding new AI-powered tools and capabilities, as well as improvements to existing ones. If you’re not already using AI Estimating, this is a perfect time to take a look

Start working faster with automatic scale and automatic name detection from your plans.

We’ve introduced some small automations that make a big impact on setup, so you’re ready to go the moment your plans are imported.

AI Estimating now automatically detects the specified scale and name of your drawing on import, so your plans are both scaled and named exactly as they appear on the drawing; making them immediately ready to start your takeoff, and ensuring each drawing is easily identifiable.

Previously, imported plans were named using the file name and page number. That information is still available in the plan details for reference, but now you have a much clearer way to navigate your drawings from the start.

Better accuracy and better results when finding and counting text across your plan.

AI Estimating’s Scan Text tool just got an upgrade. Based on early adopter feedback, we’ve improved the way AI recognises text on plans, so it delivers more accurate results. We’ve also introduced a smoother way to review and act on the results. The updated review workflow lets you navigate through and validate each result and jump directly to where each instance of text appears on your plan, giving you greater control and more confidence in the turning text into estimate-ready counts
